It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of William (Willie) Shiels, suddenly at Altnagelvin Hospital, after an illness, on August 17th, 2026.
Late of 1 The Metropole, Bridge Street, Derry and formerly of Central Drive, Creggan. May he rest in peace.
Much-loved father of Michelle, John and Kegan. A dear granda to all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dearest brother of Margaret, Annie, Johnny, Jim, Louisa, Marie, Joe, Bernie and the late Andy, Mary, Rosie and Dan. Cherished son of the late Johnny and Louisa (Louie) Shiels. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his nephews, nieces, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.
Willie’s remains will be reposing at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Eddie Doherty, 64 Lisfannon Park, on Tuesday (August 18th) from 3 p.m. Funeral leaving from there on Thursday (August 20th) at 1 p.m. for a Private Family Cremation Service.
The House will be Private please from 10 p.m. until 10 a.m.
