It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of William (Willie) Gallagher, peacefully at the Foyle Hospice on 28th August 2026.

Late of Ferguson Street, Derry. May he rest in peace.

Beloved father of Kelley. Dearest father-in-law of Gerry. Devoted Granda of Ashleigh, Tiarnán and Aodhán. Loving son of the late Matthew and Agnes. A much loved brother of Patsy, Harry, Mary, Bridie, Christine, Matt and Majella. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his nieces, nephews, wider family circle and friends.

Willie’s remains will be reposing at his daughter Kelley’s home, 11 Orchard Row, Foyle Road, Derry on Saturday (August 29th) from 6 p.m. Funeral leaving from there on Monday (August 31st) at 9:25 a.m. for Requiem Mass in St. Columba’s Church, Long Tower at 10 a.m. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.

The wake house will be private from 10 p.m. until 11 a.m.
