P.J (Patrick Joseph) Kelly, Ricketstown, Rathvilly, Co. Carlow – 6th July 2026 peacefully after an illness bravely borne and fought to the end in the exceptional care of Carlow District Hospital surrounded by his loving family; predeceased by his parents Paddy and Elizabeth, brother Billy and sister Anna.
Beloved husband of Carmel and loving father of Carol (Murphy), Fiona, Nicola (Doody), Patrick and Martin, adored grandfather of Chloe, Conor, Laura, Niamh, Shane, Aoibhinn, Roisin, Grace, Jack, Ruby, Erika and Rían and cherished great-grandad of Keelan and Taylor, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law and partners.
Deeply regretted by his brothers Jimmy, Sean and Gerard, sister Maureen, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Halligan’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Rathvilly (Eircode R93 C560) on Tuesday evening from 4pm with removal at 7pm for private reposal.
Funeral arriving to St. Patrick’s Church, Rathvilly on Wednesday morning for 11am Requiem Mass after which he will be laid to rest in Rathvilly Cemetery.
Donations, if desired, can be made directly to Friends of the District Hospital, Carlow.
