It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Maureen McClay, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital on 23rd August 2026.

Late of 23b Creggan Street, Derry. May she rest in peace.

Precious friend of Rita, Rosaleen, Margaret and Maureen. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her close friends and neighbours.

Maureen’s remains will be reposing at the McClafferty Funeral Home and Chapel Of Rest on Monday (August 24th) from 3 p.m. Her remains will leave from there at 6:15 p.m. to St. Eugene’s Cathedral, Derry to arrive at 6:30 p.m. to repose overnight.

Maureen’s Requiem Mass will then take place on Tuesday (August 25th) at 10 a.m.

Burial will take place afterwards in the City Cemetery.
