The death has occurred of
Mary Rose Baillie
née McCole, Illinois, Chicago and formerly of Catama, Malin, Co.Donegal, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home August 26th, 2026. Born in Malin, County Donegal, Ireland, she carried the spirit of her homeland throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jack A. Baillie, in December 2023. Mary Rose is survived by her brother, Charles McCole. She was also predeceased by her siblings Celia McCole Douglas, Edward McCole, Margaret McCole McSheffrey, Bernard McCole, John McCole, Richard McCole, Patrick McCole, William McCole, Philip McCole and James McCole. She leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews in both the U.S. and Ireland.
Mary Rose worked for many years as administrative assistant. In her leisure time she found great joy in Irish and country western music and dancing, pastimes that reflected both her heritage and her lively spirit.
She will be remembered with love by her family and all who knew her.
Funeral Mass was held for Mary Rose on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, 10:00 a.m. at Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish, 6020 W Ardmore Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60646.

Mary Rose McCole Baillie’s remains will arrive at St Patrick’s Church, Aughaclay on Monday evening (September 7th) at approximately 8:30 p.m. for Reception Prayers to repose overnight.
Requiem Mass for Mary Rose will take place on Tuesday (September 8th) at 11am in St Patrick’s Church, Aughaclay followed by burial in Sacred Heart Church, Carndonagh, Cemetery.
