It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret (Peggy) Stenson (née Quigley), peacefully at Owen Mor Care Home on 22nd September 2026.

Formerly of 16 Thornhill Park, Derry. May she rest in peace.

Beloved wife of the late Bill and Pepper. Loving mother of Patrick, John, Michelle, Jim and stepmother of Bill and Kim. A much-loved grandmother and great-grandmother to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchild both here in Derry and the USA. Dearest sister of the late Lily, Hannah, Kate, Sadie, Mary, Florence and Noel. A much loved aunt of the Donnelly, Quigley and French families. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle and friends both here in Derry and the USA.

Peggy’s remains will be reposing at her niece Margaret’s home, 11 Iniscarn Road, Creggan on Thursday (September 24th) from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. Funeral leaving from there on Friday (September 25th) at 9.25 a.m. for Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Creggan at 10 a.m. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.
