It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Hay (née McLaughlin), peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital on 2nd September 2026.

Late of 44 Messines Park, Pennyburn, Derry. May she rest in peace.

Beloved wife of the late Billy. Devoted mother of Majella, Philip, Michael and the late Margaret Rose. Dearest mother-in-law of John, Majella, Oonagh and the late Billy. Loving Granny and Great-Granny to all of her dearest grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A much loved sister of Rosaleen. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Margaret will be reposing at her late home, 44 Messines Park on Thursday (September 3rd) from 6:30 p.m. Funeral leaving from there on Saturday (September 5th) at 9:25 a.m. for Requiem Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn at 10 a.m.. Burial will take place afterwards in St. Mura’s Church Cemetery, Fahan, Co. Donegal.

The wake house will be private from 10 p.m. until 11 a.m..
