It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of John Doherty, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on 17th July 2026.
Late of 2 Noreen Walk, Bligh’s Lane. Derry. May he rest in peace.
Beloved husband of Louise. Devoted father of Gary and Sara. Dearest father-in-law of Fiona and Kevin. Loving Granda of Chloe, Jude and Kevin Óg. Precious son of the late Jack and Kathleen. A much loved brother of Majella, Angela, Joyce, Anna, Catherine, Pauline and Una. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle, friends and neighbours.
John will be reposing at his late family home, 2 Noreen Walk, Bligh’s Lane on Friday (July 17th) from 6 p.m. Funeral leaving from there on Sunday (July 19th) at 12:50 p.m. for Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Creggan at 1:30 p.m. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.
Wake house will be private from 10 p.m. until 11 a.m.
