It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Joe McCallion, suddenly on 23rd September 2026.

Late of 41 Culmore Park, Derry and formerly of 11 Abbots Walk and Altcar Park, Derry. May he rest in peace.

Beloved son of the late John and Bridie. Loving brother of Breege, Ann and the late Eddie and Sean. A much loved uncle and great-uncle to all of his loving nieces and nephews. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Joe’s remains will be reposing at his niece Christine’s home, 47 Slievemore Park, Galliagh on Saturday (September 26th) from 2 p.m.. Funeral leaving from there on Monday (September 28th) at 9:20 a.m. for Requiem Mass in St. Columba’s Church, Long Tower at 10 a.m. Burial will take place afterwards in the City Cemetery.

The Wake House will be private from 10 p.m. until 11 a.m.
