It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of James (Jim) McBay, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on 30th September 2026.

Late of 19 Inch View, Hazelbank, Derry. May he rest in peace.

Devoted son of the late Paddy and May McBay. Beloved husband of Rosemary. Loving father of Rachel and James. Dearest father-in-law of Liam and Melanie. Precious Granda of Caeleb, Sophia, Gracie and Ollie. A much loved brother to all of his brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Jim’s remains will be reposing at his late home, 19 Inch View, Hazelbank on Thursday (October 1st) from 2 p.m. Funeral leaving from there on Saturday (October 3rd) at 9.25 a.m. for Requiem Mass in Holy Family Church, Ballymagroarty at 10 a.m. Burial will take place afterwards in the City Cemetery.

The Wake house will be private from 10 p.m. until 11 a.m.
