It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald (Gerry) O’Neill, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on 28th August 2026.

Late of 6 Noreen Walk, Bligh’s Lane, Derry  May he rest in peace.

Beloved husband of Rosemary. Devoted father of Amanda, Jennifer, Geraldine and Gerald. Loving Granda of Abbie, Lola, Quinn, Lottie, Samson, Layla and Norah-Rose. A much loved brother to all of his brothers and sisters. A dear brother-in-law. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Gerry’s remains will be reposing at his late family home, 6 Noreen Walk, Bligh’s Lane on Saturday (August 29th) from 4 p.m.

Funeral leaving from there on Monday (August 31st) at 9:20 a.m. for Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Creggan at 10 a.m. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.

The wake house will be private from 10 p.m. until 11 a.m.
