The death has occurred of Fr Jim Staunton, Forest Hills, Melbourne, formerly of Carraholly, Westport, in his 95th year and in his 72nd year of priesthood.
Predeceased by his loving and beloved parents, Brigid and Thomas, his ten siblings Maureen (Sr. Enda), Fr. Joe, Tommy, Margaret, Colum, Frances Teresa, John, Aidan, Briena and Gerard and his nephew John Meaney.
Dearly loved Uncle of his Staunton and Meaney nieces and nephews in Ireland, USA and UK: Mary, Breda, Tommy, Joe, Margaret, Jim, Colum and Teresa (Carraholly) Mary and Jim (Westport), Maureen, Margaret, Tommy, Catherine, John and Patrick (Cleveland, USA), Margaret, Teresa, Thomas, Jackie and Ged (Manchester, U.K.).
Deeply regretted by his nephews and nieces their spouses, partners, children, grandchildren and extended families, other relatives, neighbours and friends in Ireland and Melbourne.

Fr. Jim’s Funeral takes place at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, Blackburn Sth., Melbourne, with Bishop Martin Ashe as celebrant, on Thursday (November 13th) at 10.30am (Australian time). A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St Brendan’s Church, Myna, Westport, on Saturday (November 22nd), at 6:00pm by Fr. Jim’s good friend, Fr. Tony King.
