It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Bridget (Bernie) McGuinness (née Curran), peacefully at home on 12th May 2026.

Late of 18 Moyola Walk, Shantallow, Derry. May she rest in peace.

Beloved wife of the late Billy. Devoted mother of Pauline, Jim, Rita, Deirdre, Siobhan, Michelle, Liam and the late Noel. Loving granny to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A much loved sister of the late Willie, Peggy, Jimmy and Hughie. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Bernie’s remains will be reposing at her late home, 18 Moyola Walk on Tuesday (May 12th) from 5 p.m. Funeral leaving from there on Thursday (May 14th) at 9:25 a.m. for Requiem Mass in Our Lady Of Lourdes Church, Steelstown at 10 a.m. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery

The wake house will be private from 10 p.m. until 11 a.m.
