It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Myra McDermott (née Diamond), peacefully at the Foyle Hospice, surrounded by her loving family and friends on 2nd November 2026.

Late of 18 Mount Pleasant, Culmore Road, Derry and formerly of 37 Nailor’s Row, Derry. May she rest in peace.

Beloved wife of the late John. Devoted mother of Paul, Eugene and the late Donna Marie. Loving Granny of Beth, Nathan, Owen, Charlie and Joe. A much loved Great-Granny of Avaeigha and Jaxson. Dearest sister of Johnny and the late Jimmy. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Myra’s remains will be reposing at her late home, 18 Mount Pleasant on Monday (November 2nd) from 7 p.m. Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday (November 4th) at 9:20 a.m. for Requiem Mass in St. Columba’s Church, Long Tower at 10 a.m. Burial will take place afterwards in the City Cemetery.
