It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Mellon (née White), peacefully after a short illness at Altnagelvin Hospital, surrounded by her loving family on 11th May 2026.

Late of 6 Windridge Drive, Lisaghmore, Waterside, Derry. May she rest in peace.

Beloved wife of Kieran. Devoted mother of Gareth (Glenda) and Declan (Julie). Treasured nana of Jack, Jamie, Georgia, Cian and Caitlin. Precious daughter of the late Bernard and Bridget. Loving sister of Fr. Gerald, Ena, Veronica and the late Jim and Bobby. A much loved sister-in-law and aunt. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Mary’s remains will be reposing at her late home, 6 Windridge Drive on Monday (May 11th) from 7 p.m. Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday (May 13th) at 12:50 p.m. for Requiem Mass in the Church of The Immaculate Conception, Trench Road at 1:30 p.m. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore.

The wake house will be private from 10 p.m. until 11 a.m.
